National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence was esablished in the early 1970's and the organization's mission is to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service through the testing and certification of auto repair and service professionals. The institue works in every segment of the automotive industry: car and truck dealerships, independant auto repair garages, fleets, service stations, franchises, and more. Each member is required to take one or more of ASE's 40+ exams that are grouped into specialties for automobile, medium/heavy truck, truck equipment, parts specialists, collision repair technicians, and collision damage estimators. Only upon passing at least one exam and providing proof of two years or relevant work experience can a auto repair shop become certified. Furthermore, ASE certified affiliates must be retested every five years.

Sorry about the delay in complementing you on service extended to me a month ago. FYI, Imade it home that pm, have had the tranny ok'ed in bellingham, and have been reimbersed by my insurance for the entire bill! The service and courtesy that was extended to me is comforting proof that there are still great people out there in the business world who care about those whom they may never see again! God bless.
